French Resin Pots

Rare and beautiful French antique pine resin pot, found and flogged in France. These very old resin collecting pots are from the 1800s. Due to their handmade nature, they are neither uniform in shape or symmetrical. These pots were designed specifically for collecting the resin from pine trees. The design was originally patented by Pierres Hughes in the 1800s. Resin collection was by a similar method to rubber collection. The person who did this work was called a “resinier.”
